Hi all,

I am in a position to finally purchase a BEC.
Today, Ive been to view a MNR vortex with the full cage:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/989050.htm

I think the car has a triton seat? Am I correct?
My problem is that due to being a larger chap- 6'3 and 16st, I didnt fit in the seat!

The base of the seat was too tight- I couldnt get my hips in.

I also found my head was coming into contact with the side bar of the roll cage.

My questions are:

1)Are there any other commonly used seats which offer a wider base for the wider arse

2)which manufacturer's car, complete with full cage accommodates the taller driver best?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Cue a large number of posts along the lines of-
"I've got X and I'm X tall and X stone and I fit OK"

In the end you need to get to where there are a nmber of different makes and try them. The Stoneleigh show is on soon.

Also, no good having a wider seat if it won't fit into the chassis, or prevents access to seat belts

BGH / Fisher do cages with the bar extended outwards, no doubt they could do the same for the strike or fulcrum as they are also agents for RAW. The footwell of the fury is also long enough for me at 6'3.

Speaking as a fellow big lad who has sat in plenty of these cars my guess is you probably fit fine fit into an MNR, it's just the seat that's too small. MK GRP seats seem the most accommodating as standard. The seats do make a huge difference so try a few at a show and find the right combo. If buying pre-enjoyed you may be better off buying without a full cage and having one fitted later to your own spec which clears your head.

I have a Westfield and my friend has an MK. The cockpit of the Westfield is much smaller, the seats in the Westfield are much tighter, there is probably a tad less legroom in the Westy and the footwell width is smaller too.

Haven't seen an MNR up close but the MK seats and layout are probably the most accommodating out there. My friend is a well-built 6'5 and he is fine with the seats and legroom.

thanks for the pointers.

It seemes the seat style is the major factor for me.
I'll go to another meet and check out some 'wide boy' seats.

I hope once the seat is ok, the cage wont be an issuse

( I need the cage as the car will be used on track and the ring)

Thanks again.
