Anyone know what methods I can use to get money back from a manufacturer?

I paid £3500 deposit to a company in the North East who mainly specialise in Cobras and GT40s. They act as importers for a US manufacured Porsche 550 replica, which I ordered late last year, with a delivery date of 2nd week in Feb. Well Feb came and went and when speaking to the company in question, they said they were having difficulties getting firm dates from the US manufacturer.

They offered me my deposit back, which bearing in mind they never return my calls, seamed like the best way ahead. I have now been waiting 6 weeks for my refund. At first, they said there was a banking problem with NatWest/Lloyds and Natwest were investigating. Then 2 weeks ago, the secretary said she was paying the money directly into my account. Still no money. Now, after a quick "i'm not at my desk - let me get back to you" telephone call on Tuesday, they are now not answering their phone.

Any thoughts?

I've been thinking that myself. With the economy the way it is now, it is even more worrying in case they are going to the wall! BTW, anyone had dealings with A1 Autocraft?
