964 Exhaust Mods - Advice Please.
Discussion
Hello all, I'm looking at changing the exhaust set-up on a 964 C2 however I had some conflicting info and am now totally confused. Should I
a) Fit a G-Pipe/Trombone
b) Fit a Cat By-Pass
c) Fit a G-pipe and Cat By-Pass
d) Replace the centre box.
e)Replace the centre box and fit a cat by-pass but leave the 3rd box
f) Replace the whole lot with a new "performance system".
The objectives are to reduce weight, improve performance and the improve engine acoustics (over say 4,500 - 5000 rpm) and not waste money.
Also can anyone recommend whether I should just fit a K&N filter to the standard air box or go for an induction kit (ESS, Ninemeister, etc)
Many thanks in advance.

a) Fit a G-Pipe/Trombone YES IF YOU DON't DO TRACKDAYS
b) Fit a Cat By-Pass ONLY IF 92 MY OR EARLIER
c) Fit a G-pipe and Cat By-Pass SEE ABOVE, BETTER TOGETHER
d) Replace the centre box. NAH, MOST RECKON NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE IF YOU DO a) AND b)
e)Replace the centre box and fit a cat by-pass but leave the 3rd box MAYBE FOR TRACK USE BUT CENTRE BOX MAKES LITTLE DIFFERENCE APPARENTLY
f) Replace the whole lot with a new "performance system". SEE ABOVE, DEPENDS ON TRACKDAY NOISE REGS AND CAT MOT EMISSIONS PROBLEMS
The objectives are to reduce weight THE G-PIPE AND CAT BYPASS SAVE A FEW KGs, improve performance ONLY WITH A CHIP and the improve engine acoustics (over say 4,500 - 5000 rpm) DAMN RIGHT, BUT KEEP AN EYE ON NOISE REGS and not waste money. MOST MODS YOU MENTION ARE CHEAP
Also can anyone recommend whether I should just fit a K&N filter to the standard air box or go for an induction kit (ESS, Ninemeister, etc) EVERY LITTLE HELPS AS TESCO SAY, BUT IT WILL BE A LITTLE
Many thanks in advance. MY PLEASURE
Sorry, Joel mode off now! Back to lower case...
