Heat Wash into cockpit - any suggestions?

Now that was an experience to remember, first road test of V8 UCA, what a machine!
I now know the frequently mentioned problem of heat wash into the cockpit and its effect on the back of your head.
What solutions have other Can Am drivers tried and which ones work!
Thinking of putting a 'glass' panel within the roll bar, but would that not restrict the air flow to the engine?

Tuxman fitted a perspex screen in the rollbar area and as far as I know it worked ok. He did have a cold air feed to the engine from the side intake though! Are you running with a full screen or aero screen? With the full screen very little air will enter via the top intake. I did plan to fit three small equipment fans in the intake, I bought the fans but have yet to fit them. I look forward to seeing your car at Stoneleigh.

I am thinking of making an air guide from the air inlet to the air filter on my butterfly manifold equipped engine.
Probably a round air filter on the top would not fit on the bonnet anyway, so air filter casing is on my to do list.
This has two positive effects,
The wash will be gone and the engine can suck fresh cold air from there. It will probably an alluminium case that sits on top of the throttle inlet with a square
filter compartment and 3 or 4 tubes welded into that rectangular case just ending at the inlet of the bonnet.
Will keep you uüdated how I did it, could be also some fiberglass air guide that part of to the bonnet

Hi clynos1, as Dave says i fitted a perspex screen inside roll bar which worked very well , also ment i could leave top clip vent open which helped with underbonnet temps . if you look close you can see it on photo .

you have some serious plumbing in your car, is exactly what i would like to avoid.............
I gusee you take the air from the side vent and the air filter is in that would likes like a box

That is exactly what I was thinking of doing, one question, how did you mount the perspex to the framework / Roll bar?

Hi Guys , perspex had a slight bend on it and was fixed to the glass fibre body i have a alloy template which you can try if you want it !!!
Air filter is a large ATG one and is mounted in the side pod ,alloy box is just a air collector on top of the throttle body . Lots of plumbing is down to the EFI system !!!!
