depends on what age are you and what you want to do. I would stay away from the Bigg market unless you fancy rubbing shoulders with the Charvers and Sharons from Benwell etc.

You have the choice of staying out of town in Jesmond. The bonus being the hotels on Osbourne Rd which also has some good bars which are great on a summers day. Middle of summer is great for afternoon drinks in the sun and a quick metro ride and you're in the middle of town.

Or stay in town there a lot of hotels ranging, from Holiday Inn quick break hotels, through to the Hilton and Mal Maison.

Once in town you have bars around the Central Station, Long Bar, Vodka bar, Tokyo are all good starters. Then head down the Quayside. Aikenside is good for football and getting smashed in. Quilted Camel, Chase etc for slightly better surroundings.

Other good pub for starters and afternoon boozing is, Beer in Ikea, or Pitcher in Piano for everyone else wink.

Another area is the top of Gray Street, Living Room and a few others are here, and round the corner is a nice place called Popollo.

Where ever you end up you aren't far from a pub.

If you want more info let me know.

PS you also have the Gate and Tiger Tiger. Not my favourite, but good for a laugh with the lads

Thanks for the info! The Premier Inn on the Quayside looks good value for what we are after, nothing to swish but not shi'ite! I'll be sure to look up the places you mention, I agree on Tiger Tiger, those places arent our thing. Seen a club online called Digital, have you been? Whats it like if you have!? Cheers.

Digital is more of a Dance club than Tiger Tiger which is a "Pop" club and The carling academy which is more of a Rock place. There is also Tup Tup Palace which is more RnB-ey.

Pub wise I would head for the Central Station/Gray Street and the bars in between the to.
