Problem with W209 CLK electric roof - anyone else had probs?

Wife's W209 CLK has been into Mercedes for 3rd time in 3 weeks.
The hood works once and then fails to open.
1st time they say they cleaned a microswitch - it worked once.
2nd time they replaced a microswitch - it worked once.
3rd time they replace a second microswitch - got it back tonight and we've tried it twice and it's still ok!
Questions:
1) are faults common?
2) how many microswitches are there?
3) what sort of diagnostics can be done to establish whether a microswitch is faulty before replacement?
