B.O.V worth fitting?

need help again...sorry! when i bought the car the guy told me he had twin dump valves fitted which to be honest at the time i nodded along ignorantly with not really knowing what he was talking about. now after reading up a ton on here im confused. http://gto3.com/components/engine.htm#bov the bov on there i have seen on many of your cars and i definatly dont have one of those.
my car is a 2.5L and when i close the throttle i get a whoosh sound which i can only assume is the pressure going back through the turbo. occasionally when im poodling around town it flutters rather than whooshes (does that mean anything?!?!?)
if i dont have a bov i will fit one but not if i may have a different kind already. is there anywhere else i should look? and are there any negatives to fitting one?

I'm guessing that your car doesn't have a BOV and that the sound your hearing is typical of the earlier generation cars that had the air filters behind the driver/passenger. A number of people have moved their air filters to this position to get that 'darth vader' sucking and blowing sound!
I personally think fitting a BOV is a good idea as it should prolong the life of your turbo's although there has been some debate on here as to whether or not this is the case.

from what I know and have expereinced with BOV I cant see any gain in having one on our low boost small turbo, long pipework application.... I mean we are not running enough boost to really slow such a small turbo significantly let alone stall it? and all that pipework to rebuild the boost after every throttle shut?im running at 1 bar boost!
apparently all 2.5s with the MBE 340BHP chip upgrade are programmed to run at 0.9/1 bar. im worried im causing damage to the turbo as i drive it as a daily driver (10,000 miles since august!) the turbos are working constantly across the whole rev range in all gears and i dont want to kill them. i would also like to reduce the lag which is getting worse as time goes on.
i know my turbos are not 100% as they have recently been taken apart but they are not damaged anyway near enough to replace them. in the meantime i thought if i add a BOV i may prolong their life and also reduce the lag.

and also my upgradet chips equipped with its 340hp 0.9 ...... 1.0 bar but the pressure stops to 0.7 bar as in the original .... I do not understand why ... I'm becoming crazy!

If the lag is getting worse then you have an issue IMO... the turbos are small so will spool up quite quickly, however I dont constantly hear mine if thats what your meaning?
I have had air leaks before that caused the turbo to overspool and fairly quickly killed it... so get it checked if drivability etc is getting worse.
Regarding fitting a BOV, I personally removed them from my cossie with far higher boost and a larger turbo (and more power than the noble) because they can actually sometimes increase lag and I had tired of the noise.

Slightly off topic but I'm told that the Ozzy import acceptance teams do not like BOVs to air. So before I take the car over I may have to come up with a recirc soloution.
What does this involve, could I make the forge BOV be setup this way?

If you want a recirc they are available as for changing a VTA to recirc unsure, but if you still wanted the VTA could you just remove it while its taken over? What does this involve, could I make the forge BOV be setup this way?
