Hello,
i recently bought this 540i originally for the engine and box but it turned out to be to good to break and it now has t&t. i am thinking of selling it on but i don't quite know what to put it up for, as you know this model is very rare here are the details.
540i 6 speed manual 5 tax 11 test 180000 miles alusil engine so engine mileage is probably a fair bit less than this, rondell 58 wheels 8x17 front with very good dunlop sport 9000's 235/45 and 10x17 with brand new 265/40 bridgestone potenzas on the rear. black leather interior in good condition, working cruse control, traction control and the usual refinements except air con. body is in reasonable condition for the year bit of rust bubbling here and there and a few dents and dings but nothing bad, mechanically good engine runs and pulls well (very quick) gear box is good, clutch and brakes feel good, exhaust has been modified (back box removed and replaced with straight pipes) sounds good but does bonk a little bit. also it has been fitted with a starter button (still need the key to start it ).
so any ideas on what its worth??
Thanks Jon

I VERY nearly bought one last year, as a stop gap for 4 weeks until my new car arrived. As it happened, they lent me one for that time so i backed out, but it was only £550.

Depending on condition, I'd say 1250-1500, up to 2500 for a minter.

Yours doesn't sound perfect - I'm a bit worried by the starter button, oddly, but there you go.

I'm tempted to take it off you as a track car project hehe
