But can't find any (or very few)....is this because not many were made, because they didn't sell and not many were ordered, because there was something wrong with them....or am I missing something???

at any given time there are about 10-20 regular maser spyders for sale and gs spyders about 1 every few months. i think they only made very few.

They sold very few indeed. I have only even seen one and it was yellow. Also seemed to go against the grain of the Gransport, the idea being the GS was a more pure sports car which would be compromised (some what...) by being a spyder.

The one to go for is the anniverary spyder if you can get one - essentially the Gransport Spyder. Fairly rare and probably expensive though.

(Trainspotter/Geek Glasses on)

I beg to differ! IIRC, the Anniversary Edition Spyder is just a normal 4200 Spyder with all the extras and an humps behind the hoops. I don't think its based upon a Gransport as all of the GS Special Editions have GS in the name ie LE and MC victory. Not being cocky but would like to be proven wrong otherwise as I currently have a 4200 Spyder and am on the look out for a GS Spyder for what seems like ages! Saw a 90th Edition a while back and was under the impression it was a tarted up 4200 as opposed to a GS.

I am quite willing to be proven wrong smile AS far as I remember the styling of the Anniversary spyder is identical or at least very similar to the GS albeit with Carbon Fibre trim. I also thought the Cambiocorsa had been updated, again I may be totally wrong. In any event the GS is the better vehicle over the standard 4200.

Thanks for the spot, but yes - a bit pricey with 30k on a 06 plate - £ for £ there are much better deals out there - suspect it's the rarity premium

Graypaul Notts had a superb looking Med Blue with full beige Spyder for sale towards the end of January. That was 2006 with c30k on it and was offered for £33,850.

It wasnt for sale for long.

IMO the ad posted above is way off the mark....but its always worth a try, god loves a tryer smile

Does the steering wheel still wobble up/down/side to side when you travel over any differing surface like in the regular Spyders?

Whilst I love the 4200/GS I have to say the Spyder is probably the worst car I've ever driven...and that comes from a guy who once owned a Vauxhall Calibra lol!

Is there really THAT much of a premium over the coupe just as there weren't as many built?

Yep, it was a GS. I thought it looked like the right price at the time (cold January when people were thinking the world was about to implode) but it seems prices have firmed. Not to £45k mind, but still, £34k would be a goo price!
