One of the greatest drummers of all time on BBC 4 now, Art Blakey & the Jazz messengers with Lee Morgan.... followed by Thelonious Monk.

BBC 4 have been putting out a lot of Jazz stuff recently.... keep an eye out wink

Are you aware of the music known as jazz?

Jazz, what's that, 1984, Matt Bianco, What is lo-o-o-ove anywa-a-a-y, does anybody love anybody anyway?

No, jazz. You fear jazz. You fear the lack of rules, the lack of boundaries. Oh look, it's a fence. But, no, it's soft.

I hope they put the others out - there's a whole series of Jazz 625 (in the Archive on my course at uni, they had the lot), with Monk, Blakey, Coltrane, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery, Diz, Oscar Peterson etc...

It'd be great to see them all again!

I think they've been slowly going through them all on Friday evenings with repeats on Saturday, starting about a month or two back.

Haven't seen them all but they've had Dizzy, Getz and Brubeck on the other's I've seen.

They seem to run them along side jazz documentaries which have been fascinating.
