pictures in sprint

so how do i get my pictures in sprint , i sent them a cd with a load of pics of my chimaera next and under the concorde ( ba one not a museum one) and not one of them gets in and i even email the editor to see if they got the cd but still no luck have they all gone away for xmas or is it a hard job getting pics in the mag

U've got to position your car strategically.... i.e. where other people are going to take pictures of theirs....get them published....with yours in the background.

Hi go to the TVRCC Website and you shoudl see the contact number for the club:

Then all you have to do is join the club to get Sprint through your letter box monthy, and a very nice Mag it is to.

A lot has to do with luck as well.
A friend of mine had been trying for years to get his published. I bought my cerbera last february, and got a photo of mine published in April's Sprint. It wasn't one of my photos either, Someone must have taken it at the PH Tankersly manor meeting.

Me too - I emailed a small piccy of mine at the beach -and it got in the following issue.

Maybe the wad of cash I enclosed had something to do with it . . .

I had noted mine was a 1.2 million pixel piccy and was rather small compared to some of the others!

Pictures need to be 3 to 4 million pixels.

I have sent in 400+ over the past year or so, I think it just depends on what ever catches the editors eye at that time.

If you're taking digital pix, most cameras save as JPEGS anyway, so converting them to BMP will not add any quality, only make a much bigger file.

You have to use your head a bit - if you're going for the cover shot then it needs to hold up at A4 resolution. If you're not sure if it's OK, print it off onto photo paper and see what you think. Conversely, if you're sending in a pic to go in the regional reports, where they are printed about 2x1", you can get with almost anything.

With care you can get a nice quality pic for a reasonable file size. For most purposes I reduce the image size, then save as a JPEG where I can set the compression as required. PhotoShop is very useful as you can juggle the level of compression with file size.

I think it's also fair to say that they have quite a good library of standalone pics of cars. What they really need is articles. If you write a piece and add a pic to enhance what is written I think you'll stand a much better chance of it being published.
