Pukka Pies .....

So there I am stood in the chippy in High Wycombe on Saturday afternoon with the girlfriend and a mate of mine and I saw it .... transfixed I stood trying to work out what was it that had caught my attention.

Then it fell into place ... the glamorous transmission tunnel on which the equally glamorous couple were scoffing there Pukka Pie and chips was that of a Griffith Magnolia interior ....

Couldn't believe it .... what was more shocking was the girlfriend wanted it for the flat wall somewhere so nearly ended up leaving with pie chips and pie poster !!

Anyone else seen one of these ?

Yeah, I spotted this one a few months ago. Waiting for my chips, spotted the poster and thought - "this'll while away a few minutes while a figure out which car this is". And of course it didn't! But then I thought "hmm,pre 500" and then thought "I'm going to die a sad lonely old man..."

The Family that Own Pukka pies love their sports and classic cars, Andrew Storer (youngest son) racers classic MG Midgits and his brother used to have a minter Humber Scepter sport.

They bought one of the first Griffiths from Graypaul Ferrari, Loughborough.

Graypaul (who now only sell Ferrari and Masserati's) were the main agent for TVR in 1994 for the Leicestershire/Nottinghamshire area.


It was used in fish and chip shops for years and I haven't seen the posters for ages. It was his own Griffith.

Very practical too. Just as Ned the factory hound approved of any new TVR as long as it had a cheese sandwich in it, my mother used to judge a car's virtue entirely on whether it had somewhere flat to put a thermos and a coffee cup...

We were in Birmingham the other weekend and after a heavy drinking session we went to the chippie for chips and curry and the pukka pie poster was on the wall and my mate ended up buying it for £70 a classy poster but I think the drink pushed up the price a little

I saw the poster in that chippy on Broad Street around 4 weeks ago and like many others thought that looks familiar.
Wouldn't have paid £70 for it though.
