You appear to have an obsessive collector's disorder DB. Will that make three sets now?

Andy - been a while, how's tricks?
Not too bad thanks. Rear screen gave up the other day, so the new rear hood is on it's way. Also toying with the idea of a twin xenon headlight conversion.
Oh and sorry for getting your premiums put up

They must read these threads. The pic in your profile looks good, I hope that it's not courtesy of some infrared surveillance sytem you've had fitted
(damn, the only flaw in an otherwise flawless plan) Andy

Cheers... nope it was taken with an outside lamp near the car out the back of a B&B... and I used the "night" mode on my camera. Actual photo is not quite as dark... and looks really good.
just in the process of having mine done. The nice man is going to paint them then diamond cut them with a clear laquer finish, all for £38 per wheel.Should get them back next week so will post the pics when here.
He did say that if the car is used daily then diamond cut is not the best to have, but i wanted them as they were when they left the factory.

Mmmm! Now I'm confused. I thought Diamond cutting was skimming a layer off the wheel. Why would he be painting them before that?
£38/ wheel sounds good though who is it? I think we are both trying to get to the same end - The wheels as they came out of the factory.Let me know how it goes.
Cheers

Had mine worked on a couple of years ago, took them from a right mess, blasted them back and powder coated them 'sparkley silver'. Not as 'bright' as when polished/laq'd but looks pretty damn good, easy to clean/maintain and still look as good as when they were done.
Price (cash in hand) was £25 per wheel and this included collecting them from Basingstoke and delivering them back to me 3 days later!
Can dig out the name of the company if it would help.

I had a bit of a mishap in my VW and butchered my wheels up a kerb. I refinished them myself by putting a sanding disk in the angle grinder to take them down to a smooth finish then took out the usual disk abrasions with some wet and dry by hand. I then bought some grey primer and some aluminium paint from Halfords. After giving the wheels a good clean with meths I primed them and then used the aluminium paint and built up a few coats to a very good finish. The paint was excellent and sprayed so easily and evenly too.
The results were superb, looks like I've had the wheels professionally refurbished.
