I thought that Mike Gascoyne was a pretty good replacement for EJ. He started a bit wooden but soon eased into it. Is feature on the diffusers was very good. Explaining the theory in a very "man on the street" way. It would be good if he could be a regular on the coverage.

He must have left Renault on difficult terms going by the interview with Pat Symonds. A bit cringeworthy.

I think Mike Gascoyne has upset a lot of people in F1 with his style, hence why he's moved about so much.

But I think he's pretty much a godsend compared to Eddy Jordan, doesn't come across arrogant and knows what he's talking about, unlike Eddy Jordan, who's probably more an Irish Flavio. A guy who can explain the technical aspects, a driver, and a presenter is all you need.

How do we get the BBC to get Gascoyne on permanently, is their any BBC F1 forum or anything?

Miket G did a really good job, much better than EJ who after that weird interview with BE (which I could't watch after the first minute or so) proved to me that he is way out of touch. BORING!

I so hope BBC kick EJ into touch ASAP.

Got to say though that DC has really settled into the role well IMO. Didn't see a folder today though, what a disappointment!

A very very big +1 to that!

MG puts a great technical edge to the commentary, better than hearing Bernie this, Bernie that from EJ along with all the other rubbish that he dribbles!

ETA: He was also on Chris Evans the other day, he spoke rubbish on there as well! He was going on about his band...maybe he should take that up full time
