Silverstone Classic Tickets

Just had a quick look on the Silverstone Classic website.

A weekend ticket (to watch the racing Sat & Sun) is £75.60.
The racing was great last year & so were the classic car shows but this seems quite steep?

Anyone know a way to get tickets a little cheaper?

I've been looking at SC tickets too. I noticed on the official website that there will be two music concerts happening at this years event. The Pussycat Dolls (inc Mrs Lewis Hamilton) will be performing on Friday evening and Carlos Santana will be live on the Saturday.

I think this could alter the atmosphere at the Classic, making it much more like Le Mans; at last years SC, X-factor/Britain's Got Talent hopefuls 'Escala' put on a concert, which was well-received. That said, the Le Mans concerts are included in the price of your race week tickets, the Silverstone Classic concerts are extra.

In answer to your question about cut-price tickets, I'm hoping to go along with the MX-5 Owners Club (celebrating the 20th anniversary of the MX-5) and through the club I can get discounted SC admission. I would have thought that other exhibiting owners clubs would offer similar SC discounts for members.

Is there a different policy this year? last year there was reduced admission (i.e. 2 for 1) if you were a Car Club member, pretty sure it wasn't free.

Early booking = cheaper tickets but IIRC, last years early-bird tickets were pegged at the previous years (2007) prices so were not a fair indication of how much entrance would have cost by paying on the gate. Consequently last year was ridiculously cheap; I bought a 3-day adult ticket (Fri-Sun admission) including in-field parking (with OC) but the tickets were 2-for-1 so I ended up with a pair of weekend tickets for £36!

It's not to bad considering the excellent amount of racing.
The cost just adds up quickly when I'm buying tickets for other family members.

Been meaning to join the MG Car Club for ages so I'll do that now because being a member get slightly cheaper tickets (I think!)
