Outside of their home obviously, I do not see why they should be allowed to roam freely to kill what they like and crap where they like.

I accept a cat on a farm may be used to keep down vermin, dogs also work on farms to work with animals. However in a domestic environment that is not required.

Why is it that someone growing food in their garden is allowed to kill certain animals for eating their food, like slugs, catipilers etc but has to put up with an animal contaminating their food with feces.

If it's to be equally applied to feral children and adolescents then I'll happily waive the moggies right to roam and kill at will.

You don't live near an Indian restaurant, do you?

I wouldn't go so far as requiring a lead for cats.

However, I think that all cats should have bells on their collars to give the tens of millions of birds that they kill each year a chance.

The spelling may not be perfect but you do not have to be a idiot to realise what I was getting at.

Are you trying to have a dig at my spelling? if so I would like to see you spell as well as me after the amount I have had to drink.

You've not had enough if you're still able to get indignant about such a silly thing, man up and get a couple more down your neck - in moderation of course!

Picture the scene, Mr repsonsible takes moggs for a walk in the park on his cat friendly extensa lead, big dog comes running over cat goes up tree, fire brigade spend next two hours trying to undo cats cradle in tree, not a good use of already overstretched public resources IMHO

Because it would look silly. Tens of thouands of cat owners teetering on top of fences, trying to keep up with their mogs.

Who said anything about an extensa lead? use a normal lead. Cat still attached to lead? Pull lead before cat reaches tree, its not difficult, its an animal the fraction of the weight of a human, are you expecting to be dragged along by a kitten?

If cat and dog owners are not able to keep control of their animals perhaps they should not own them.

I guarantee that I could drink twice as much as whatever you have and still be able to spell "caterpillars" and numerous other worms.
