I'm after some "in ear" headphones that will fit comfortably under my motorcycle helmet, and even possibly (should I ever return), won't fall out at the gym.

The problem is that I must have oddly shaped ear canals, and have already been through half a dozen or so pairs without finding a good fit, even with chagnebale size buds/tips. My ears seem to be "small", and I also have trouble with radio earpieces at work.

So is there anywhere I can try before I buy, or will I end up getting some custom ones made?

Ones that won't fall out tend to seal in the ear, thus cancelling all external noise.

I won't cycle with mine, I wouldn't be motorcycling with them that's for sure.

I doubt anywhere will let you do this for hygiene reasons.

glad I posted this, 31 years old and I had to find out how to spell 'hygiene'

Small form factor ones are your best bet, Klipsch Image X series (these are unbeatable for comfort!), q-Jays, d-Jays.

Not sure you will find a place where you can try them before buying.

ETA

Etymotic ER 4 or 6 may be a good choice too, they are small and go deep in ear, the isolation is the best you can find.

I wear earplugs when I'm on the bike normally, which cuts down most, if not all, of the external noise.

As already said, they're not solely for use on the bike.

For hygiene reasons I think you will struggle to find anywhere that will let you try in ear headphones before you buy...

I tried some out at the APPLE store. They had lots of the rubber bits and threw them out after.
