Simple pleasures...

..Roast Chicken sitting resting while I wait for the new potatoes to finish cooking, and I'd completely forgotten that I picked up some Smoked Mackerel from Sainsbury on Friday. There's nothing like a little bit of smoked mackerel, balsamic vinegar and a glass of Chablis as an unexpected hors d'oeuvre.

It's an unexpected glass of Chablis. That - for me - is always good.

Oooo. Try said mackerel with chopped dill on rye bread and a tot of ice cold vodka / akvavit to accompany.
