I did too. W reg 21000 miles on the clock and no mods. Did 9000 miles and then decided to get the engine rebuilt at Dulfords as it was getting a little tappy. As said go in with your eyes open.
I bought it this way as I wanted to choose how the engine was rebuilt and also so I could run it in myself.
Have now run the engine in and it is ridiculously fast. The cams I have are a new cut to give more mid range power and are one above the red rose rebuilds. Warp speed Mr Sulu.

My Late 2002 Tuscan, 21,000 miles (Original Engine) and at last service engine was inspected and found to be in perfect condition with no signs of wear and plenty of adjustment left in the tappets.
It's pot luck, and how well the cars been looked after in it's early years......... Some people have no problems at all, and others are unlucky. If your unsure, have it professionally inspected.

I bought a 2001 three years ago. Ran it as an everyday car. Before taking it to Le Mans in 2007 had the head off, checked for wear, checked the shims. No problems at all. Ran to an from Le Mans sweet.
Not used the car for two years now as I am living abroad.
My advise it buy from a reputable dealer; see the history and if you are worried get it checked.
