Quite impressive that he is claiming that these savings will be from 'efficiencies'. Isn't this basically saying that he and GB have been wasting £15B a year without any reason other than being inefficient?

PD figs out soon as well. Expected to be £160B and to ignore all the recent underwritings.

I think we can expect the Pound's recent gains to be wiped out this week frown

The truth is that Labour have little interest in cutting the deficit.

The bigger the mess they leave public finances the more mess for the Tories, leading perhaps to a quick return to power.

I like the way Labour rubbished the Conservatives in 2005 for claiming they could make some savings. Only for them to claim they can make £15b now.

They must think we're right muppets.

Basically, we, the electorate, are. Muppets with short memories, and a tendency to forgive leftists anything and rightists nothing...

Indeed. People tend to see Labour mistakes (or whatever you call screwing up the country), with the exception of the delightful "smear-gate" story, as mistakes made whilst attempting to better the lives of the average person.

Conservative mistakes are seen as mistakes made whilst helping their "rich mates".

Tory HQ needs some good spin doctors of their own! smile

We are. Which ever party gets the most positive coverage in Gracia and More will win.

We need to face up to the facts the we are and always have been a nation of complete fkwits. What is different this time is that New Labour has been all about giving enormous amounts of money to the fkwits and also promoting them multiple rungs above their ability.

The Morons of this country would elect Jade Goody's rotted carcass if it came free with a Lotto ticket, a Barcadi Breezer and a nomination from Nuts.

I am kind of hoping the Tories make a bit of a meal out of this.

Will they now harp on about Education and the NHS suffering due to these cuts?

I read the other day that eybrow and winky will continue on their previous lines of nicking from our pension pots - the scum. So we pay more on our pensions to preserve theirs? Quite when there will be a revolution is the question these days.

At the last election didn't the Tories claimed they could cut costs by making things more efficient - only for Nu Labour to claim it meant sacking doctors, nurses and teachers....

....

No, it's generally recognised that it is The Sun (ie Rupert Murdoch) that decides the outcome of general elections in the UK.

What fcensoreding planet is that moron on? At times it sounded like the sort of video Jacqui 'Two Homes Secretary' Smith's husband would be watching, taking about tieing things down. I see that he couldn't actually give many examples of what the country's good at either, but then he's hardly likely to make a great play about electing incompetent and corrupt politicians or encouraging scrotes to breed and benefit from those who can be arcensoreded to get off the backsides and work.
