Faded Audi LCD Screen

Just wondering if there is a fix (easy or not) to a faded computer screen between the rev-counter & speedo - its the LCD with mpg, average speed, etc. On cold mornings its fine but then fades, it still works & can sort of make out some parts but not sharp at all.

Any suggestions?

(its a '99 Audi A6)

That can be replaced/repaired for a fairly reasonable price.

You need to speak to Dr G and oddly enough so do I as I need to get my brothers Trip Computer screen sorted for my brothers 2000 A4.

thanks for the reply - is there any independent specialists in scotland you know of? or will i have to resort to main dealer!? or even VAG dealer??
