Problems squeezing the roof in the boot of my Tam!

I have a bit of an annoying problem when I put my roof in my boot, it is a real squeeze and every time I do it the rubber seal on the drivers side pulls out by about 6 inches. Its the rubber seal that the top of the window squashes into.
Am I doing something wrong, I can feed the rubber back with a flat tip screw driver but its doesn't do it any favours.

Cheap tip; get a couple of thinck plastic bin liners and split down one long side.
Put a bag on each bottom corner of the roof before you slide into the boot. This will both protect the strip and ease the ride. We've probably all been there. I actually phoned the dealership up the day after I collected the car as I couldn't get the damned thing in!
More expensive/permanent tip; by a roof bag from Leven. I think it's the Chimera one. I have one, and it was a good buy.

unscrew the gas strut that holds the boot lid up, on both ends, put a small rubber washer, then screw back together. The result is that the angle that the boot lid opens is increased by a couple of degrees, which makes it easier to get the roof in, and therefore slightly less chance of the rubber things popping out. I have the Leven bag which improves things, but they do still come out of the runners when putting in/out of the bag!
