C202 w202 ran out of fuel

Yes I know it is stupid and should be more careful but I need a solution...


Ran out of fuel, cant start the car, it has 1/2 tank of fuel in it now, and battery is dead. Charging the battery up as we speak.


Someone suggested starter fluid to aid the start? Is that a no no???


The car is in a supermarket Carpark so need to get it sorted out ASAP

Presumably you`ve sorted by now . If it`s a diesel , you may need some assistance (although common rail diesels ok) but if it`s a petrol , just fire it up !

sooooooooo.... havent sorted it, but found out what it is... It's the flamming fuel pump! rang the RAC, signed up, got them to come come out. Within 20 mins of pissing about with it he told me that is was the fuel pump, and he had been to see 4 of the same car with the same problem this week. excellent, Merc's are officially crap!

If the RAC guy had really seen 4 that week with the same problem why did it take him 20 minutes to work it out. If that were true, should have taken 20 seconds as it'd be the first thing he checked hence I don't believe him.

Sorry to hear of your problems but mone broken fuel pump does not make all Mercs crap. Every manufacturer's cars break down at some point. 8 years ago, my 3 month old BMW 330Ci broke down and stranded me on the M1 for 3 hours, doesn't make all BMWs crap.
