For the past two weeks Tamils have been protesting in London. Previous protests have been documented in the news, a few arrests have been made, mainly because protesters have been flying the flag of the Tamil Tigers, which here in the UK is a banned terrorist organisation.

Today, several thousand Tamils gathered, broke Police lines and headed towards Parliment. The reason for this escallation today was that MP's were returning after their Easter break.

I have seen the news and seen the stories online, the Tamils in Sri Lanka are certainly having a hard time of it.

My question is this, what do they expect to achieve by protesting? Surely, as I mentioned above, the Tamil Tigers are classed as a terrorist organisation? How can our government be seen to be supporting such an organisation, which they would be if ceasefire demands were made?

I witnessed the march from Trafalgar square to Hyde park the other weekend, I was on Piccadilly. It seemed to be fairly benign, but there were a HUGE amount of 'Tamil Tiger' flags and the majority of chanting was along the lines of "Tamil Tigers freedom fighters" etc.

It perfectly obvious that NuLabia always support anyone who is not christian, white, taxpaying, hardworking, honest, law abiding, perhaps middle or upper class, to further their plans of divide and rule. These Labour scum want to erect a socialist state of little britain similar to the DDR and are using exactly the same tatctics as did the SED and their cohorts the Stasi. If you doubt it, just do your history.

How come they have been allowed to do this protest for so long? The G20 protests were forced away but they do nothing about the tamils??

It's still going on and isnt confined to Shell, a ph'er was ripped off by this scam last month by the staff & management at the Murco petrol station in Wallasey (widely reported in the press, so not a name and shame violation). It was also reported in the news last week was the arrest of a supporter / member of this terrorist organisation for buying "terrorist supplies" with money from these scams

It's amazing that given all the legislation that winky and his cohorts have foisted upon us in the name of fighting terrorism that this lot are still in this country..............

I don't know enough about the situation in SL to comment on that. What I will say however is that, from nowhere, we are all now aware and talking about the situation.

Just goes to show how useful (or not, if you are the gov't) peaceful protest can be.

Hey, I'm aggrieved about thinsg over here. Let's all go to Sri Lanka and march through the streets waving placards saying 'Brown must go'.

Why do all these fkers come here to moan? Because we're the only country stupid enough to let them do it, and then pay to clear up afterwards?

Tamils in London holding placards saying "Brown must go" how ironic, but true.
