Let's talk about Nipples!

Ok, so I have your attention now.... I'm talking grease nipples on the steering rack, ( sorry). At the last service the rack was greased by the indie,, and they tell me that they have never seen a TVR with caps over the grease nipples. Surely this will mean that dirt gets in and causes wear? Should my car have caps over the nipples?

Grease nipples have a spring loaded ball bearing inside them which should stop the ingress of dirt etc. A wipe round before you put the grease gun on will suffice.
