European road trip with Viper ?
Discussion
Hi !
I have recently bought '96 GTS. It was a bit unexpected purchase, as I owned '92 911 Turbo, but buyer appeared and I let it go. So decided to try another of my dream cars.
I had already booked European driving holiday in June and plan was to take 911. Trip starts from Rostock down to Alps, lots of driving there ending in Monaco and back through France to Rostock. Total distance is 2200 miles.
I'm just courious, what more experienced Viper owners would decide ? Would you take your Viper, or something sensible, like 3,0 TDI A6 ? And consider (if it's not the actual case) that your Viper has very loud exhaust and appr. 600 hp. And you are going with your wife mostly to enjoy the roads and scenery. Also you do circuit racing and therefore have enough "commited driving" possibilities elsewhere.
Thanks

You are in the right place should you need any advice on the car, and if you wish to meet up with other Viper owners please see the Events Dates List at the top of the Forum, you will be made very welcome.
That's correct, I'm not in UK. Don't have decent pics yet, here is one from the day when I took it out of container and are just going to cross the border.

Car came from respected VCA member and wasn't for sale publicly. It has lots of engine work done (n/a) and thats what got me thinking, would I enjoy such long roadtrip in this loud and rough beast ? In standard or close to standard car it would be no problem for sure.
When I drive it around for a while, I can decide it easily by myself, was just wondering if anyone here has personal experience of long distance driving in similar car ?

a group of about 12 vipers did a trip into Germany last summer, through France and belgium past the Ring, with a full trackday in the middle no problems at all they are made for fast cruising and love the german roads
nice and comfy to, so no broken back after a day in the seat, it was 2200 mile round trip for me, and little less for the majority of the gang
