Adventure Gamers, any here?

Hi guys,

Any of you into adventure games?

I've played through:

Post Mortem (FANTASTIC!)
Still Life (Also fantastic!)
Broken Sword (Obviously)
The Longest Journey (Great game)
Fahrenheit (One of the best I've played!)

and I'm currently playing Dreamfall

Any otheres anyone can recommend that have the same sort of atmosphere/design as Fahrenheit and Still Life? Fahrenheit was just fantastic, totally immersive, it gets ruined towards the end though

My early gaming career started off with the likes of Leisure Suit Larry, Kings Quest and Police Quest.

I'd recommend hunting down Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, The Monkey Island games, Grim Fandango and The Dig.

Monkey Island 3 was great, remember playing it over and over again, The broken sword games are good too, though they should always be point and click games really.

there is a new one, however its in german. broken sword 2.5. It's not official but it looks good.

I havn't played it yet. However I recently played broken sword 1&2 and they are timeless

I'd add the Gabriel Knight and Syberia series' to those mentioned above as well.

Ah, played Syberia as well, I wasn't too keen. I think I like the crime genre the most Still Life and Post Mortem are EPIC

Get them played, I think I'm probably one of 5 that've played them!

Loved them ever since the Lucas Arts days.

Grim Fandango was my fave, very closely followed by Full Throttle.

+1 for Grim Fandango, remember playing through it when it was first out and it was absolutely stunning graphically. I do wonder if this is looking back with rose tinted spectacles though, but well worth a look.

broken sword was imense, when you started off outside that cafe in france i think it was, then you had to click on the news paper, wish there was more games like that but for the next gen consoles

The strange thing about Broken Sword was how French it felt, it seemed to have a different way of going about everything, most refreshing. Imagine my shock when I found out it was written 30 miles down the road in York

all the lucasarts games, broken sword 1+2 etc are all absolutely fantastic ways to waste time.

Have been thinking about them a lot lately, cant get my DOS games to run on vista though, anybody got any ideas??

Blade runner was another excellent game, which alos looked absoulutely stunning at the time. I still have it somewhere so I might dig it out and see how good it looks 12 years later.

There are also plenty of compilations on torrent sites.

I use the DOS emulator DOSBOX to run the games.
