ford capri... engine conversion, which engine?

i have a ford capri and i'm thinking of replacing the engine for something a bit faster, but i'm not sure which engine would be best suited for an easy conversion, any recomendations or advice?

well it could be anything from a 2.0L Pinto to a 3.5L rover, but realy unless we know what you are starting out with then its a bit hard to offer much advice

Top of the list must be Tickovers 5.7 chevy conversion....a few grand though.
Seen plenty of lovely 2.9 Cosworth V6 transplants too.

yeah that was a bit vague of me, its a 2.0l pinto at the moment

2.9 out of a Scorpio Cosworth would be my choice.

Makes the car very driveable indeed and not very expensive or difficult to do.
