Hey Guys ... so small steps of progress on my new charge, and it has only been a week !!clap

Right - Passenger door window does not drop when the door opener is operated. I remember reading about someone else who had this, but just spent half hour searching the posts, but I guess I missed it .. The Window is fine via the window control, it just not dropping when the door is opened.confused

Related possibly (hey I'm new here remember bowtie) - The thread at the bottom of each door that makes contact (?) with the black contact in the sill - does this have anything to do with it 'cos I think the one on the passenger side is broken !

Your help appreciated people .. smile

I had this, it was the window control box in the boot. Try unplugging it and replugging, MAKE A NOTE of which plug goes where, as they all interchange!

OK - So tried unplugging the Window / door control box - not solved it. Nor has fitting a new sensor in the bottom of the door (But at least the interior lights now work properly !!clap

The door open instantly - no pause as if trying to lower the window - Is there a switch in the door somewhere telling the system that the window has lowered and so the door can open ? confused

Help appreciated

Have you removed the door card and cleaned up the 2pin connector inside? Common problem. Gets dirty/wet (that reminds me of an ex scratchchinhehe)

This may help smilehttp://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=905...

When mine started doing this (window not dropping but door opening OK)I found it was the connection to the magnetic switch in the bottom of the door. I removed the door card, and played about with the wires to the switch and one fell off - re-made the connection and it's working better than ever. You could also try swapping the switch from the drivers side and see what happens.

Gee - Am I loving the first few weeks of ownership rolleyes

Passenger door seems sorted now. I "think" a combination of the new magnetic sensor and then unplugging the control box for a good old reset did the trick. Now that that side seems perfect, I have realised that drivers door which I assumed was ok, is not quite banghead

Aside from my clicking 3 or 4 times before the door opens (Work in progress via another threat) , when I press the button, the window ALWAYS drops a couple of inches - no matter where it is ? The passenger door only drops if it needs to - which I am guessing is correct confused

Looks like an afternoon with the door cards off for me and a clean up as suggested - but a definition of the "correct" functioning would be appreciated

Thanks

If the window is down by at leats a couple of inches, it shouldnt drop further when opening the door, as you guessed.

Just be thankful these are only minor problems in the grand scheme of things and all will be forgiven after a good drive smile

It would be boring if it all worked all the time...wouldnt it? wink

Oh crap, I thought I had removed that. I stopped adding figures 2 years ago when the BiL casually mentioned he had been on PH and spotted my running total in front of Mrs Fubes one evening banghead
