Hello everyone my everyday car is a Ford Escort 1997 LX,but for some reason my warning light showing a airbag (orange light) keeps flashing on my dash and my horn does not work.

Spoke to someone the other day and they seem to think they could be linked !!!

Any ideas what is making the warning light flash and how i can stop it ??

Im about cheesed off with it flashing now

Could be the steering wheel contact, how many flashes? if it is 5 (i think) them stick the seats all the way forward, look under(from the rear seats) & you will see some yellow connectors, unplug them & plug them back in.

Did you do both sides? Just ned to unplug them & plug them back in a few times. I think it was 5 flahses for that though so could be the drivers airbag (clock spring at a guess).

Dave yes mate did both sides and left them for a while then plugged them back in but it's a no go still flashing 4 times.

Would it be the module unit as the horn does not work when pressed on the sterring wheel (where abouts in the car is it) ?

clock spring !!!!

Have you had the plastic trim off from around the steering column? Worth a look(anything for airbag is yellow). Google Ford air bag fault codes wink Clock spring-used to get the electrics to the air bag, Haynes manual is your friend.
