Where abouts is the one on the A3? The one on the A322 on the Lightwater By-pass (away from M3 J3) is a average speed camera, the company that makes them i believe is based in Camberley and they belong to them.

The camera setup on the A3 is on the south bound dual section between Roehampton Vale and the Robin Hood roundabout.
The set up looks quite complex.
Most likley Radar - IR - Photo vehicle / driver and possible ANPR
of your plate, what time you had breakfast and the last time you farted.... oh speed and date/time.

The ANPR set up on A322 at Lightwater is experimental.
A while back person or persons unknown had all the equipment away from the control boxes, now they got more metal work around them than a TVR whistle

Roughly where abouts is the equipment? I've not noticed anything myself, but will keep em peeled next time I drive along there in the next day or so.

They were digging up chunks of the A24 next to this camera the other day. Not sure if it's coincidental or something to do with the camera itself..?

If you join the A322 from M3 roundabout and head towards Guildford as you come around to corner before the concealed left turn there is a lattice mast.
On top are the start cameras, located on the verge around the corner is the black control cabinet.

Before you get to the Gordons Roundabout there is another latice mast with duplicate cameras on, conrol cabinet is a about 75m on the left.
Heavliy reinforced with additional steel and padlocks.

A fair few metres between cameras, I need access to my street utility maps to work out the distance.
It's an experimental installation I understand.

Even garage forcourts have ANPR
It's simple I have one at home attached to PC.
24hr coverage of my drive and any vehicle in view, brings up the index plate in seperate box on screen.

Those cameras have been on the Lightwater bit of the A322 since we moved here about 3 years ago - they can't be live...

A322 Lightwater by pass are SPECS cameras owned by a company in Camberely. They are live but not for enforcement.

Sorry to bring this topic back from the dead, but the cameras at the start and end of the Lightwater by-pass can't be Spec's, as I see people roaring up that road all the time. I always thought they were traffic monitoring cameras as that road does get pretty snarled up at rush hour time.
