Horne and Corden

has anyone managed to get through more than 20 seconds of it?
I loved gavin & stacey but this makes me cringe.
I loved how they justified making the series too.. " yeah, we were larking about backstage on the set of gavin & stacey and the crew were just "cracking up" so we thought we could make a show of it"
think again lads.

I think its a generational thing with these 2 - They seem to appeal to the under 25's more.
Mortimer & Reeves were equally an acquired taste that you either loved or didn't.
Sometimes you either "get it" or you don't...I don't in this case.
Unlike Mortimer and Reeves they are very poor. Vic and Bob were doing something new, this is just bad comedy. Mortimer & Reeves were equally an acquired taste that you either loved or didn't.

As someone who found Gavin and Stacey possibly the most overated show ever made, I was never going to be a fan of this. If "the kids" like it then they are wrong. The Mighty Boosh manages to appeal to the young and is also hilarious.
Me too, an atrocious waste of ego massaging screen time. Whats even better is that this 'comedy' duo, who are about as humorous as a terminal illness actually read the negative press they generate, and then get all miserable about it. Keep reading it boys, then take the hint and f
k off.

The show is dire.
Some Ok sketches but they are far and few between, I like the bi-polar disco, at least some thought went into that idea. Camp bloke sketch was done well. pi$$take on american marketing/selling ads (where they are orange faced etc.) had potential as a sketch but lacked any real punchline.
That's about it, the rest was rubbish.
All sketch shows are hit and miss sketches, the key to it is having more hits than misses though. This show fall WAY down on hits.
I think Horne and Cordon know they don't have a great deal of depth to their talent so are milking all they can while they can, make hay while the sun shines etc. don't blame them, doesn't mean the show is any good though!.

The Fast Show was still the best funny/unfunny ratio IMO.
The Fast Show is the best sketch show ever made, even the unused material released as a special show was bloody brilliant.

More could have been done with Rickey Gervais sketch, the impression and look was spot on, the writing however.......
that just sums it up...they thought "hey, great impression" and stuck it in a sketch with zero thought to the writing......as such they have a DAVID BRENT impression, laced with some Gervais "isms" and bundled it into a something between a piss take of Gervais because he's successful in the US and a homage to David Brent which feels like people doing Frank Spencer sketches in the late 80's....i.e yes, we know it's funny character (thats why he made millions doing it) but how about thinking up your own?Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
