GT-R Gets 'Supercar Style'

LSD opens the doors of perception with new Nissan project

Could you bring yourself to do this?
Could you bring yourself to do this?
There’s no denying that the Nissan GT-R is a genuine supercar with world-beating performance, but perhaps it doesn’t quite tick all the boxes.

The typical flamboyance of the supercar world, typified by Zonda, Koenigsegg and Lamborghini, is missing, but now LSD has provided the answer to every GT-R owner's dreams in the shape of these scissor-style doors.

The patented wing door hinges allow the door to slide outwards and up, and are apparently very easy to fit as they use the mounting points of the original hinges. The LSD conversion allows a maximum opening angle of 30 degrees - just about enough to squeeze yourself into the GT-R’s Recaros - and they even conform to stringent German safety standards.

If you’re looking at your new GT-R thinking it is now inferior to this LSD creation, then fear not. The company can un-hinge your GT-R, and any number of other vehicles, for the princely sum of £1700.

Lets hope the mods don't hurt the GT-R's ring time.

Before anyone says "Maxpowertastic!" these have some value in tight supermarket parking spaces if you have long doors...

But would I get them fitted if I had a GTR? Probably not.

Great, one way to ruin your 60k machine by imitating and old Lamborghini feature.

I really hate after market "tuners" they really do know how to spoil nice cars.

I don't see the point of this story at all. You can get those kits for almost any car from several manufacturers. It's basically an advert for LSD, if PH get something out of it then fine but I'm not sure it's readers will.

It will degenerate into another twenty pages of pro and anti-GT-R nonsense, meaning loads of page views to show the advertisers at the next meeting.

What a fantastic addition to your car. LSD, and I'm speaking independantly, seem to be offering something unique and individual to the after car market.

Yeah right. Suck my duck!

Not only will the car be good round the 'ring. It will fit in with the Saxos at Tesco's car park on a Saturday night.

_Really?_

I'm not sure if I believe that. As far as I can tell most of these lambo door conversions actually make it more difficult to get in and out of the door opening as you have to duck your head under the door!
