Tent or Motorhome?

Tent is easier and a lot less dull to drive down there, and perfectly OK if the weather's alright. Motorhome better if weather is really hot, really rainy or you need to leave your camp unmanned for a while and don't want to have to pack stuff into the car and lock it up.
Personally I go with a tent, but I don't have the option of a motorhome.

This will be our third year in a motorhome ... can't imagine going back to a tent.
It's a dull drive but bloody comfy when there.
The tent just got bigger and bigger each year and the kit we were taking got more and more and it just ended up being an arse to set up and take down again.
It's entirely possible we're getting old of course

Going back to a motorhome this year, I've found the fun of taking a nice car is dissapearing. To many speed traps, and to many idiots wanting/demanding your do a burn out before your allowed to continue, along with a boot to the door if you don't comply.

tting in it though I don't get the restricted use of the crapper rule, however. For me, one of the biggest attractions of having a motorhome is not having to endure the horrors of the public bogs/showers. I'd far rather deal with my own turds than have to cope with all of yours aswell, if you get my meaning.
Having the luxury of a private toilet and then using the stinking, spackled hell-holes at the track is kind of strange behavior, in my view. Still - none of my business, I suppose.

I grant you the dynamic has changed a lot in recent years and there's a lot of tts behaving badly with no respect for other people's property but how can you leave your T350 at home?We camp about 5 or 6 miles outside Le Mans in a 5 star campsite in the grounds of a chateau and simply avoid any known trouble spots. We get taxis to and from the track when the race is on and leave our cars secure in the knowledge they'll come to no harm.
As far as the drive goes it's probably the best part of the weekend for me. We plan a route these days to stay off the N138 and motorways as much as poss and still get to push on a bit through the gorgeous French countryside. How can you get on the ferry in a motorhome surrounded by automobile erotica knowing yours is at home and the mindless c

What sort of cash do you pay to rent a motorhome locally? (If you don't mind me asking).

E440.00 for a 6 berth, collecting Thurs lunchtime and returning Mon afternoon. 100kms per day limit.
They do require a fairly hefty security deposit (E3,300.00) and it has to go back spotless or they clobber you with a cleaning fee, so allow time to give it a good clear-out/clean-up, outside and in, before taking it back. Don't forget to empty 'grey' water and toilet cassette, unless you want a surcharge for that too.
I've used the same company for the last 4 years and never had any problems - I'll never slum-it in a tent at Le Mans ever again.
