Right.

I'm saving for a place of my own and will be loking at buying in 24months time. I had a First Direct regular saver ISA (7%) last year that is full, matured and reverted to a 'normal' ISA (0.21%). I have started another FD reg saver ISA (7%) for this new year so I can't transfer the other ISA else where. I also have a Halifax Reg Saver (7%) and a Barclays Reg Saver (6%) into which I pay the maximum monthly amount.

My question is this.

Bearing in mind that all my savings accounts will, most likely, be emptied as part of the home purchase. Would it be worth me taking the £3,700 odd from the FD ISA paying 0.21% and investing it in say ICICI's two year bond at 4.2% (3.36%ish after tax). I'm (just) a lower rate tax payer.

It's important you tell them it's a transfer, once the money is out of an ISA, you can't put it back in again.
