Posh and vaguely annoying as he is, he seems like a genuinely nice bloke so I hope he is ok.

Ben, he's alright but I wouldn't want to share a flat with him.

And he's at least got guts (well, some at least, I was annoyed when he was so scared over the Great White search episode I saw) and determination.

I wasn't aware that 'posh' (which in this context I presume means well spoken) was mutually exclusive from 'nice'. Gor blimey geezer etc.

Anyway, Ben Fogle does indeed seem impeccably nice. Whatever irritation you try to conjure up about him, it simply dissolves in a sea of Niceness, leaving just Niceness - 100% Nice made from natural organic ingredients.

His condition is ongoing as far as I know. Doing the polar trek wasn't such a good plan as they think it left him vulnerable to another flare up. HIs treatment is pretty horrendous and arduous and it's going to take a while, it has knocked him for 6 but I think it has helped that he was previously fit and healthy.

Basically I wouldn't want to go through what he is right now!

I know him (as an acquaintance, rather than a friend), and he's actually a really nice chap, and has a great deal of motivation. The illness hasn't been much fun.

He's definitely not gay. Shouldn't prevent us all from abusing him for being so. And successful, good-looking bloke needs to be taken down by his peers. Them's the rules!
