Harry OZ in Total Vauxhall (AGAIN!)
Discussion
there were three issues
1 - only 1 mile whereas Brunters is measured over 1.6miles
2 - intercooler too small so intake temps were climbing to a point way beyond the temp limit at which the ecu pulls timing, s losing power just where you need it
3 - traction, although I gather there is little difference in speeds achieved between a standing start and a flying start around the curve at Brunters.
Roll on VMAX. Heres hoping new intercooler turns up.....

So Size obviously is everything!!! 2 - intercooler too small so intake temps were climbing to a point way beyond the temp limit at which the ecu pulls timing, s losing power just where you need it

Regarding your intake temps is your intercooler ducted properly so all the air goes though it and not around it? that alone will make a huge difference to you intake temps.
Also, you need to allow the air to extract. If it can flow out it'll always find a way in. So the exit route needs to be large, the intake can actually be quite small or any size suitable. If it can't exit easily there won't be any flow or cooling no matter how big the core is.Good luck Harry.

stig - they don't want the barry boys turning up and hanging around, just those taking part and guests I'd imagine. If dates were published you'd have folk climbing fences etc to get in and watch - all kinda safety and security issues - makes sense to keep info to those that need to know.
Harry, I'm really looking forward to seeing your car: my man Gandalf has been wetting himself o'er the beastie!
Tbh, it's very easy to say 192 achieved in a mile easily translates to a 200 run at Brunters but of course, aerodynamics and ambient temps, etc can be a real SOB in such matters.
However, generally set at 1.7 miles, it does sound as if the the beams may bear witness to their first dose of antipodean double tonnage!

isnt there an old cossie thats doing over 200mph?
Good luck for the weekend Harry!
Rod Tarry's car has run 211mph over 1.5 miles. Not 100% sure of the venue. It was either 1.5 or 1.6 miles at an event a couple of years ago.Good luck for the weekend Harry!
His car will be back later this year and is hopefully trying to better his previous.
Harry, if gearing permits, you will have no problems achieving 200mph....but I think you already klnow that.
Just to stick with the Vmax topic, would it be possible to come along as a guest and watch this with someone? If so could someone kindly let me know when and were it is etc! Always wanted to attend one in one way or another!

Im not looking to run the Monaro this time round as my brakes are shot quite literally and the tyres arent in a healthy state either but would love a go in the near future before start fiddling with the supercharger on it!
