It's a Euro spec ex police car. All police E39's were EU spec, hence the orange lights etc.

Ah, I only skim read the text, didn't notice it was a ex-met.

Did the euro-folk stay with orange lights all the way through the e39 then?

It's got no "proper" bmw stereo, digital air-con, leather and doesn't mention cruise control either, will it have that?. I bet it'll be hard to sell at that price.

They did, yes.
Not sure about that, as 95 % of the facelift E39s I see in Belgium and Germany have clear lights.
