What is your favourite place to eat in London..? Or favourite thing to do..? Will be hanging around there a bit coming up and would like some "insiders" recommendations smile Will be doing some roaming/sightseeing by myself, some with the boyfriend, and one of the days will be spent with boyfriend's lovely and fun mum.

Cheers!

Notting Hill Carnival, one imagines, given jerk chicken's roots.

If I had to pick one restaurant it would be Maze, though obviously there are many others.

The London Eye is worth a visit. The Millenium Tent is not.

The Natural History Museum would be my pick of our museums.

Borough Market is worth a visit, but Saturdays are best avoided; it really is 'Hell of a Billion Tourists' by lunchtime.

I'd avoid all food at NHC - you're likely to get the sts

Le Mercury on Upper Street, Islington for a good meal, good atmosphere and good value. Then on to any one (or more) of the many pubs around there, from "cool" bars to traditional London pubs.

Umm...not a lot to say other than its very good dim sum, and reasonably priced (compared to Royal China et al). However, expect to wait half an hour unless you turn up early (i.e. noon).

Like many chinese restaurants, staff can be "brusque", but order quickly and loudly like the Chinese do and they are efficient enough. Check the specials card in teh dim sum menu for some interesting stuff, and order bravely - lots of tasty things aren't particularly elegantly described.

don't order the "three treasures" or shanghai buns, they are pretty much the only things on the menu that were dissapointing.

The restaurant also does a very good dinner (not dimsum). again, order off the specials menu.
