Hi, just bought my first Jag, x300 4.0 sovereign. Always done my own servicing and fault finding, just wondered which manual is worth getting hold of to help, cheers, carl.

I've had a nightmare trying to get Jag manuals. Something about they dont give out the info but I'm sure one of the guys here will have a work around. Look out for those on ebay though as they aren't really manuals but more tech specs.

I'd avoid anything on ebay unless it's a genuine Jaguar JTIS or the Jaguar Classic Parts original edition (part number JHM1179 for the 3.2).

I've bought copies of Jaguar "workshop guides" and "technicial information" discs in the past from e bay - all absolute rubbish and a complete waste of money IMHO.

Start of with JDHT's parts and service manuals. Buy directly from JDHT and be assured the money will be put back into the Heritage Trust (I found them to be the cheapest anyway). There are no 'Haynes' type manuals. The X300 book produced by Jaguar World Monthly helps with some servicing and other common mechanical work. Becoming a member of JEC allows you to search their magazine archive of around 20years up to 1984. Some people subscribe to Alldata. I don't know how it works. Search for it and find out. Otherwise, search the forums like you are doing just now. Forgot to say welcome and happy Jagging.
