Temperature sender
Discussion
The reference to Vauxhall refer to the AC gauges ...and dynamo, you are running Smiths gauges the sender relates to the gauges and that the gauges run on 10 volts via a voltage stabilizer which is an earth dissipation unit, screwed to the rear of the dash. This will if either faulty or not earthing leave you with very high readings. Adrian@

Hi.
The water temp sender is broken. It has no continuity through it when measured with an Ohmeter.
I replaced the regulator thinking initially that was the cause of the problem. But it does appear to be a failed temp sender... (If I earth the guage signal wire to the block the guage moves!)
