I need to arrange some travel insurance for going abroad withing europe, however, all the policies i'm finding only cover single personal items upto around £350-£400 per single item.

There will be several induvidual items worth in excess of that amount, how does one get these covered without paying the earth?

Any ideas people?

In the US, we generally have these items covered through our homeowner's or renter's insurance. You should be able to get supplemental coverage through your insurance agent.

I think that most people add these items to their house insurance (as stated above) depending on your cover i think you may be entitled to 30 days at a time away from your home. Depending on how much the valuables you are taking, it may be worth having a look at executivehomeinsurance.co.uk although i fear it may be a little pricey.

As above - house insurance as well. Use Hiscox. £45 a month for house and contents up to £60000 with £XXXXX of items specified at over £1500.

ETA - removed value of items specified on insurance due to public forum

Most home policies only require items over £1,000/£1,500 or above to be separately disclosed.

Might be different if you want away from home cover - but I think this type of cover could be easily arranged under a household policy
