boot release

i am sure this topic has been covered but cant find it.my boot relase works intermitantly at best and now its stopped altogether. i had the solenoid replaced about 3 years ago so hope its not that again.help/advice please.

Mine doesn't even catch, previous owner took the solonoid and all electrics out and attached a pull cable type system

Going to buy racing spring over centre catches to make sure it stays shut !

I found that the thin cable from the boot release switch and under the tunnel trim to the back had broken. The break was just under the tunnel trim. Fixing it cured the problem completely and realiably.
