Dad's heading into hospital!

After recently having a few appointments with the doc's, my old man's heading for hospital for a heart valve replacement operation.

Now from what i've heard, generally this is a fairly normal operation, and his chances are good with the average at 98% with no problems. Coupled to this my old man's already been in for surgery on his nose and knees a few years back.

Even so, knowing my old man's gonna have his heart being worked on... i'm kinda still bricking it here

Understandable for you to feel that way, I know I did when my Dad went in for it!!

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about.

The people that do these operations are highly skilled and it's bread and butter stuff for them.
The main thing is the anesthesia but if they didn't think he was capable of handling that they wouldn't put him through it.

My mum is in hospital at the minute (back operation yesterday) and it's awful to see someone you love tubed/dripped/morphined up in bed but if it helps long term that's all that matters.

Your dad will be fine and his post-op life much better.

My dad went into hospital 2 and a half months ago, only just got out yesterday and hes still not well.

Hes spent 3 weeks in the Royal Brompton, they've said he has left ventricle failure.. But is too unhealthy to operate on.

I'm not 100% sure whats wrong with him/what their going to do but I know how it is for you
