I'm ordering a Tuscan S in January next year and as this is my first experience of TVR, I was hoping for some words of wisdom. Are there any particular Paint/Interior combos to avoid? Anything specific I should bear in mind when choosing a dealership? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Firstly, well done - you won't regret it! I picked mine up 6 months ago, and still love it!

Colour wise, it really depends what you like - try and look at as many cars as you can to see what looks good and bad in the flesh, and also take a look at Luca Brazzi's site - www.sleepy-fish.com

As for your dealer, I'd recommend that you go for one nearby, as you will probably need to pop back now and again for minor niggles to be sorted out, so it really depends where you are.

Saying that, some people stick with a particular dealer even if it means further to travel if they have a particularly good relationship with them. Where abouts are you based? I'm sure people here will recommend dealers local to you.

Hope this helps!

Cheers for that site some excellent pics (especially the flasher!) I was thinking of nebula black with a black interior with red inserts. As for the dealer I spend half the time up north in Lancs and half in London. Was thinking of HL Gorner or Christopher Neil. Is there any point trying for any discount when ordering?

Ah - black, with black interior and red inserts - I couldn't think of a better colour combination

Some pics of my car are here

I've not had any experience of the two dealers you mention, but if you're thinking of going for one near London, then I'd highly recommend Castle TVR, near Stansted. They're slightly north of London, but are just across the road from Stansted Mountfitchet station which is on the line to Liverpool Street station. Two advantages of them are that one of the salesmen, Ian, does the design of the factory show cars, so knows a thing or two about colour choices, and the other salesman is Michael Caine, the factory's race driver who drove at Le Mans!

As for deals, there's no harm in asking
