I've had Assassins Creed for a month and I have completed it. IMO it's one of the best game I have ever played.

Anyone ever play it?

yeah thought it was pretty good, some of the story was a bit confusing if you hadn't played it for a week or so then came back to it but once you got the hang of the fight combinations just running around the roofs picking fights and running away again was great fun.

Looking forward to the sequal to see where they take the story, allegedly it jumps forward to a more present day scenario

Brilliant if a little repetative. I never finished it, but I'm always tempted to go back to it every now and then...

I too thought it was great to start with, then you realise that you're just doing the same thing over and over and over, with only about 5 different types of side-mission to do in order to break things up a little. Here's hoping for a lot more variety in the 2nd one.

I had it on rental and thought it was a big let down on the whole. It was great for the first hour or so but after that you're doing exactly the same thing.

The graphics and level designs were brilliant though, and I feel that they should have done a lot more with it.

Suppose it is a _bit_ repetative but the gameplay is VERY good.
In Halo 1/2/3, GoW 1/2, CoD 1/2/3/4/etc. all you do it run around and shoot things. In Forza 2 all you do is drive a car around a racing circuit. How come these games aren't classed as repetative?

Must admit is was a bit short tho, but it was awesome while it lasted thumbup

Played it round a friend's house and found it quite dull to be honest - it just seemed way too easy (could fight endless baddies without too much bother) and too repetitive (OK on Halo you just shoot things, but there's a big variety of baddies/guns/locations/ambushes/etc. but on Assassins Creed it seems like you just fight 4 guys round a civilian again and again).

They aren't repetitive as there is a larger variety in the way you go about things, in a shooter you end up in different environments, with very different ways of tackling each bit, same with a racing game, you'll never experience the same situation in a corner twice.

With Assassin's Creed you hear the same voice several times asking you to do the same thing, then you end up surrounded by guys, holding down that block button and waiting for that counter window, OK you might be in a different area of the city, but you're still going to play out that fight in exactly the same way, ditto with following someone and defending the woman's honour. They don't give you any great options about how to play it out and the same tactics will work again and again, all the way up to the end of the game, you're not forced to improve in any way or work out different tactics.

Absolutely fking loved it.

Admittedly it could have been a little bit more 'full' as a game/ story but as an experience it is Epic.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Best bit... riding along on a horse towards the guards with you sword wealded (sp?)... leaping off the horse, equipping your hidden knife in the air and stealth killing a guard in one sweep. Awesomeness!! smile

It looks sex wee fantastic and the first time you climb a tower to be sweepingly surveyed the landscape and to bail off into a hay bail!! cloud9

Running across roof tops persuede (can't seem to speel today!) by a pack of angry, intelligent, armed Templar Knights as you hook up a leap across, smash under, roll, climb, hop, jump, jump, flip is just brilliant...

Yeah agreed, this game was awesome, something very satisfying about jumping on the guards unexpectedly with your knife up your sleeve. Was very fluid and felt good to do satisfying jumping about. I think AC was what Prince of Persia has been trying to be for the last 5 games.

I admit it got a bit repeaty, but that didnt make me not want to stab some more people in the face.
