Thanks.
I am in two minds. The camera's flash makes it looks worse than it really is and the dial has tiny patina "dots" so I'd have to get someone to work on that. Plus I like the used look.
That said, I've seen what a vintage watch can look like when it's been completely refurbished.

Flash is always harsh. I'd leave the face alone, and maybe replace the glass and crown- not expensive.I am in two minds. The camera's flash makes it looks worse than it really is and the dial has tiny patina "dots" so I'd have to get someone to work on that. Plus I like the used look.

Yeah, I am toying with the idea of Polywatch(?). Dunno how good that will be. The crown is fine. It looks strangely brass in colour; I think that was the flash again.I suppose it's worth trying Polywatch if I am going to get a refurb... won't matter if I damage the glass.

Would it be rude to ask how much you paid (assuming you bought it)?
I paid about £140 - can't remember the exact price because I've bought 4 watches this week. I always knew I had plenty of time.
I think I was lucky with the price; it was taking up space in the seller's drawer and the glass is quite badly scratched (although it isn't that noticeable when you're looking directly at it).I was looking for something classic to wear to a wedding.
