...like over a year. Apart from pouring some fresh oil over the camshaft to help top end lubrication. What else is adviseable? I seem to remember someone once saying squirting oil in the spark plug hole! Is this right? If so, how much?
I have already drained the fuel tank. And the entire system will be bled, as there is no fluid anywhere. Apart from a bit in the gearbox.

Also, what are the best fluids to use? I assume dot 5.1 with a high boiling point (over 350 deg). But what make? Both the brake fluid options in my local motor factors don't have any info on temps on them, so I'm staying clear. And I take it the same fluid is used for brake and clutch?

Best gearbox oil?

Any tips appreciated.

Cheers

Wouldn't risk putting any oil down the spark plug holes could cause some serious damage if you put too much in there. I only ever use dot 5.1 don't think it matters too much on what make because its made to a certain specification by manufacturers, but i use Comma just because its what my local motor factor has in stock.

Oil in the plug holes is fine Just leave the plugs out and cover bodywork with a rag. Turn the engine over by hand a couple of times before using the starter. Disconnect the injectors too. I'd put about 10-20ml in.

Diff I use Castrol SAF-XJ as reccommended by Opie Oils. Gearbox I use Royal Purple after loosing a box the year before last year.

Also I've tried 5.1 and don't rate it, too hygroscopic meaning annual changes. Carbone Lorrain Dot4 racing is the fluid of choice by Brummie so I'm giving some of that a spin.

Think I might have gotten mine off ebay. I just did a search on Google shopping for it.

After you've turned the engine by hand, pull the fuel pump fuse and spin it on the starter to get oil pressure up.
