Tuscan test drive

Well took a Tuscan for a test today woooo hoooo! amazing looking car in chameleon orange. Couple of questions:

The brakes worked well but it felt like pushing against a brick wall to get them to work. It this normal?

Anybody touched up chameleon paint? There are a few chips on the body just where the back of the roof connects. Caused by bashing the roof when taking on and off, i think. Its bad enough that it needs sorting. Just wondering if this is likely to be 'touch up able' or is it gonna need a big re-spray?

Apart from that all seems well, have new followers and cams last year, new clutch last month, FSH, 22,000 miles, 52 plate. Having an inspectin done by Austec next sat, any advice on extra things to have them check out would be great.

If the inspection comes back ok, i will have a Tuscan in about a week, wooo hoooooo!!

Go for it mate.
Brick brake is fine, no brake booster here. But it will bite seriously, if your leg muscles are up for it.
Cannot help you with the paintwork though. All I know is that the paint itself is expensive compared to common ones.
Hope you get it if it's the car advertised here...

They all chip where you put the roof in.

I would consider either living with it or a manual touch up.

Look into the costs of paint repair before you commit!!

Yes, there are touch-up sticks available - also in chameleon orange, for about 20ish GBP ...
They are not perfect, but good enough for the typical chips and roof-off traces.

Re the brakes, there is servo assistance but they do need more pressure than your average saloon car. You can alter the leverage ratio on the pedal to change the required force a bit. I also never liked the feel of the original Ferodo pad compound so changed to DS2500s which give a bit more bite.

Well done, hope the inspection goes well. As per the post above, yes the brakes do feel quite hard to begin with, but once you get used to the feel and feedback a normal car really does feel rubbish!
