I'm thinking of making the big trek down from Scotland (450+ miles!)again after a 16 year absence from the pod. Only ever went to the Easter thunderball before (3-4 times in the early 90's but they were great)
Will I see a massive change ? Will the Main Event be a lot better than the Easter Thunderball's ? Will there be toilet roll in the toilets
Cheers

The entry for most classes is pretty good but we are a bit light on fuel cars no Linda Tonsoth or Lex Joon in TF and I was wondering if Urs might be back in Europe given that he has not entered the last 2 NHRA rounds. The last 3 or 4 years FIA meets at Santa Pod have all had 8 or more TF entries. The fuel Funny car revival also seems to have stopped and I am surprised that Thomas Nataas is not entered given that he seems to attend most big events at the Pod.
It's the best field of TMD I can remember and given how competitive that class can be qualifying should be great, 21 Pro Mods is not a record but it's certainly enough to make qualifying there very interesting.
In answer to the other query the FIA events are better in most ways than the Thunderball, there are a lot more Pro cars and { with a bit of luck} the weather should be warmer and the times better. The general facilities at the Pod have improved although it can still be a mud heap on a wet day and a dust bowl on a dry one !

Far be it from me to suggest that anyone in the racing community ever leaves things to the last minute. When standard entry is closed, which it now is, that's when we find out who the genuinely rich racers are
random question here.
there are 6 entries for top fuel at the moment if it stayed like that how would eliminations work. would 1 and 2 qulifiers get a bye or would it be 1v6 2v5 3v4 with winner of 1v6 getting bye into final? .
cant wait for main event this year and praying for some sunshine

just looking back on the archives on micke kagered site in 2003 there was 6 cars and they had 3 pairs in 1st round and a bye in the semis. maybe thats changed now. i wonder if there will be anymore entries was expecting more than 6 .
10 tmds thats loads, i think that will be the most exiting championship this year as there are 5 or 6 who could win the championship.

No sign of the Fuel Altereds or Nastaas on the latest update though another Pro Mod has entered. As before I tend to think that there are still too few competitors spread around too many of the pro classes. I love Fuel funnies but I'd rather see 9 in TF {or 9 in FC}than 6 in TF and 3 funnies as we have. I do know that the cars in classes like TMFC and Pro Stock are very expensive to build and I'd have thought a Fuel Altered must be pretty near as expensive to run as a TF or FC but it means we have 7 expensive pro classes of which 3 or 4 will not have full fields even at a pukka FIA meeting.
Mind you a couple of years ago TMD seemed to be on it's last legs but this time we have 10 cars and it looks great.
